What a beautiful Autumn day it was at Curborough for the last competitive event of the season held by the  Club. It was a full entry with ‘Best Time of Day” going to Gary Thomas in Class J1 & J2 combined in his Force PC in a time of 53.08s

The ‘figure of 8’ track configuration is a real test and one or two managed to take wrong turns during their morning practice runs.

The Honda S2000’s took first and second in ‘Class A2(a)/A2(b) ably driven by Michael Thomson and Raymond Worrall with the very nippy Fiat X19 of late entrant Jonathan Plowe taking 3rd. Class wins also went to  Chris Berrisford in his Subaru Impreza (A3a), Graham Godfrey, Audi TT (A3b), John Palmer (B1 /B2), David Bickley (C2 & D).

Matt Carter managed just one run but still took the top spot in F/G Class in his Radical. Simon Andrews took best time by an MAC member in his OMS 28 and also won his class

It was good to see the Ralt F302 of John Chalmers on track and the Triumph TR5 of Rod Stansfield who managed a small ‘off’ just after the finish line, with Bruce Atkinson taking top honours in that class in his Alfa GT Junior.

Fourteen Ferraris turned out for their last event of the season and Richard Prior (who turned up late having chosen to watch the end of the Japanese Grand Prix!) then put in the fastest time in his Ferrari 355 GTB.

A great day of competition run in glorious weather and a suitable conclusion to our 2016 season.
